Healthy Cells (Cellular Health)

Greetings,
ThaBadbrey Herbalist Says;

In order to keep cells in optimum Health, there are a number of  vitamins & minerals that can be consumed.

These Include;

1. Selenium
This is a trace element which assists with antioxidant activity, and thus the healthy life cycle of cells within the human body . It has also been proven to improve bone health as well as a healthy functioning thyroid. Foods containing this element are as follows (Please bare in mind that the level of Selenium prevalent within each food is dependent upon the nutrient denseness of the soil in which it is grown. This is why I buy Organic wherever possible).

Foods Highest in Selenium are as Follows;
Almonds,
Brazil Nuts,
Hazel Nuts (In fact most nuts contain Selenium although I would not advise the consumption of peanuts. It is also advisable to consume only a handful of nuts daily to avoid and over abundance of selenium within the body),
Sunflower Seeds,
Spirulina

2. Vitamin C
Being one of the best anti-oxidants, it helps with the formation of skin cells with special regards to collagen in the areas of the body that require a high level tensile strength, like the frenulum beneath the tongue (the stretch of skin that connects the tongue to the skin on the lower jaw or mandible), the collagen of the lips and the web-like stretches of skin between the fingers and toes. It is also anti-viral in nature and assists with the health and well being of the cardiovascular system alongside the maintenance of a healthy metabolic rate.
Foods containing this Vitamin are;
Almost all Fruits
Almost all vegetables (especially dark Leafy Greens; Spinach, Swiss Chard, Kale etc…)
Chestnuts, Hazel Nuts and Macadamia Nuts.

3. Vitamin E
This is an essential Vitamin required for optimum blood health and thus radiant skin in conjunction with healthy cellular structure, since it also possesses anti-oxidant properties.  It also assists in the strengthening of the immune system and has a reputation for protecting artery walls from the oxidisation of LDL(Low Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol. Thus, being a myocardial infarction (the scientific terminology use to describe a heart attack) preventative.
Most Fruits and Vegetables Contain Vitamin E, These are as Follows;
Avocado
Blackberries
Guava
Kiwi
Mango
Nectarines
Peaches
Papaya
Pumpkin
Raspberries
Taro (also known colloquially as “Yam”)
Spirulina
Swiss Chard
Most Nuts including Almonds, Walnuts and Hazel Nuts.

4.Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs), Omega 3, Omega 6 & Omega 9
A healthy Balance of each of these Fatty Acids are needed for the optimum health of the cellular tissues within the body, especially the brain.
Most of these “Omegas” can be found in Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Coconut Oil, Dark Leafy Greens,  Almonds, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Black Current Seeds(These are one of the few seeds that contain all EFAs, Omega 3,6 & 9 but they are difficult to find on sale).

As always, I would advise against the consumption of these essential Vitamins & Minerals in commercial tablet form, as these are usually poor imitations of the natural version found in nature. It is therefore advisable to obtain these highly beneficial nutrients from the original food source, such as those listed above. Additionally, it is essential to consume a wide variety of food as a means of obtaining all necessary Vitamins & Minerals available to us within their most natural form. There are more foods I could have listed but those shown are the main players.

Optimum Health for All!
